light on water | original oil painting on cedar round
light on water | original oil painting on cedar round
One of my favorite trees fell in my backyard during a winter storm here in Nashville, and I decided to honor it by creating as much art out of it as I can. This was cut off the stump of the tree, hand sanded, prepped and painted with oil. This painting is a one of a kind, and cannot be duplicated even if similar varieties are created.
I followed the natural grain of the wood to create the image of water and light, so that I could maintain the beauty of it’s natural form, while adding a touch of my own. I find it so beautiful that the flow of water is close enough to the growth of tree rings that they mirror one another.
This painting may be delayed in shipping by two weeks in order to properly cure before varnish,
please keep this timeline in mind if purchasing.
It has a metal wall hanger attached to the back, so that it is ready to be hung on the wall.
Artist signature is on the back.
